Hey everyone,

This week we have created a Moodboard for our product. A moodboard allows you to gather inspiration, articulate a feeling or mood, and pitch ideas.

Our mood board consists of images, color palettes and typography. We have gathered fun and playful images together with educational quotes and images.

We have also thought about the kindergarten setting and durable materials.

The feelings we want to evoke in our persona (preschoolers) are: playful, fun and also educational. The color palette is colorful and sociable, but still polished and clean.

Our new decisions:

  • Product Colors:

The main feelings we want to evoke in the product are fun and learning.

  • Product Material

The product should be more durable. Thus, we have decided to use a

plastic or wood. We've also decided to use a smooth material.

  • Product shape

We have decided to create a rounded product (without sharp corners).

We have also chosen to use the shape of the familiar Simon game. The

shape will help the kids learn how to use the product (pushing buttons).

  • Product size:

The product should be 17 cm diameter. The repeat button was too small

for the kids during the initial user testing, so we will make him bigger.

  • Learnability by Jacob Nilsen

During our initial user testing, we realized that It wasn’t clear enough how

to initialize the game. We’ve decided to add some signs next to the card

area in order to imply to the child how to start the game (for example,

adding a LED or an icon).

Finally, we have designed an initial product on Tinkercad and implemented most of our new decisions.

Stay tuned!

P.S We met with our tech mentor, which he recommend a slight change from QR to RFID, and he gave us few options for hardware. After deliberation between us we decided as a group on using Raspberry Pi last week. We built our tech kit accordingly items. We sent it and and the kit was prepared for us by the mentors, and later and we picked it up.
