User testing 2

Updated: May 2, 2021

After upgrading our prototype and customizing it according to our mood board and the feedback we received, we started preparing for user testing.

The changes we made in the new prototype were-

1. We changed the vertical incline of the card’s placement to make the extraction of the card easier.

2. The colors were chosen in accordance to the mood board. All colors are brighter.

3. The new version of our product is more durable, and was made from cardboard, kapa and stickers.

4. We’ve made the buttons clickable after we had gotten multiple reviews about the inconvenience of not being able to press the buttons.

The user testing process:

1. Preparation- We have prepared tasks that can be tested by users, such as first / last word phoneme recognition tasks and rhyme tasks. In addition, we prepared open-ended questions like What did you like the most about using this product? What did you like the least?, What do you think about the feedback the product has given you?

2. Research objectives-

Design: In terms of product design we wanted to check How easy is it for users to understand how to start the game for the first time they encounter the design?, How easy is it for users to accomplish the tasks for the first time they encounter the design? and How easy is it for users to understand how to move between tasks for the first time they encounter the design?

contact: In terms of content we wanted to check Will users have difficulty remembering all 4 answers in the rhyme task? And how the participants react to the positive and negative feedbacks?

3. The participant- We found 7 participants, 2 participants aged 18 and over, 2 participants aged 12, 2 aged 5 and one participant aged 9.

4. Preparing the users-

· Getting users consents. In case of a minor, we asked for a parent/guardian consents.

· Using “Think aloud” technique

· “It’s not you, it’s us”

· “I can’t speak, questions in the end”

· Presenting a scenario to give some context

5. Finding-

· We divided the findings to design and contact

· We discussed the findings and possible solutions

· We have created a slide for our findings

Stay tuned,
